Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed midfielder Diogo Jota from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan.

Portugal under-21 international Jota is reunited with coach Nuno Espirito Santo, for whom he played on loan at Porto last season.

The 20-year-old, who becomes Wolves’ 10th signing of the summer, told the club’s official website: “I am very excited — Wolves is a huge club and a historic club.

“It is always a goal for me to play in England, and this is a good opportunity. It is good for me to work with Nuno again because I know him and worked with him last year.”

Jota joins Portugal U21 and former Porto teammate Ruben Neves at Molineux.
