Islam Slimani to Besiktas

Slimani was Leicester City’s record signing when he joined from Porto for £28 million in August 2016, but the Algerian’s time at the King Power Stadium has been underwhelming and he looked set to leave in January before Claude Puel was appointed as Craig Shakespeare’s successor.

Subject of Watford transfer rumours, having played for head coach Marco Silva at Sporting, the 29-year-old is now wanted by Besiktas too. However, he has featured under Puel with greater regularity and scored in the New Year’s Day win over Huddersfield Town — his first Premier League goal since last April.

Kortney Hause to Watford

Watford are expected to look for defensive reinforcements in January having shipped the second-most goals (47) in the Premier League this season, with only relegation-threatened Stoke City having a leakier defence.

Wolves’ 22-year-old centre-back Hause might be the immediate solution. The former England under-21 international is highly thought of at Molineux but has struggled to get into Nuno Espirito Santo’s table-topping side. According to The Sun, could join Watford for as little as £2.5m this month. He is also a Huddersfield Town transfer target.

Emre Can to Manchester United

Long reported as a Juventus transfer target, Manchester United have surprisingly moved into contention to sign Liverpool’s Germany international. Can, 23, is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and talks over a new deal have stalled.

United look set to lose Marouane Fellaini, also a free agent in six months’ time, and could replace the Belgian with Can who is looking increasingly likely to exit Anfield — according to the Daily Star. Can will be available on a free transfer as he turns 24 later this month, but cannot open talks with another English club until June.

Etienne Capoue to West Ham United

Out of favour under Silva at Watford, former Tottenham midfielder Capoue could become David Moyes’ first signing at West Ham. With the January transfer window open, Moyes will be desperate to bring in new faces to aid their battle against the drop.

Capoue, 29, was once seen as one of the most exciting talents coming out of France. But the former Toulouse powerhouse has flattered to deceive in the Premier League — he actually scored seven goals last season — and is now a peripheral figure at Vicarage Road. He has a £12m release clause, according to the Daily Mail.

Bartosz Bialkowski to Crystal Palace

Julian Speroni is enjoying a return to the limelight, taking advantage of Wayne Hennessey’s injury to win back the No. 1 jersey at Crystal Palace. The 38-year-old Argentine has been excellent since returning to the team.

However, Speroni is unlikely to be the solution in the longer term and Hodgson has, according to the Daily Mirror, targeted Ipswich Town No.1 Bialkowski. The 30-year-old stopper would cost around £4m to bring to Selhurst Park but is out of contract at the end of the season if a deal cannot be struck this month.
