Everton begin their Premier League campaign next week against Stoke City before playing Hajduk Split in Europa League qualifying.

Everton and Sevilla played out a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

It took just 34 seconds for the home side to take the lead when Tom Davies fed in Sandro Ramirez, who went round goalkeeper David Soria and fired into an empty net.

The La Liga side levelled just before the break when Joaquin Correa fed in Ever Banega to score, before Banega got a second from the spot after Gareth Barry had brought down Nolito.

But the Toffees hit back when Kevin Mirallas was felled in the area by Nicolas Pareja, the Belgium international picking himself up to score.

Atleti’s Lucas Hernandez played hero in their final warm-up of the preseason, scoring the winner in just the 87th minute.

Atletico Madrid needed a late goal to see off Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton & Hove keeper Maty Ryan embarrassingly let in a speculative Nicolas Gaitan effort from long range in the 42nd minute, but Pascal Gross equalised just after the hour mark.

Steve Sidwell cancelled out Fernando Torres’ strike in the 77th minute, but Lucas Hernandez earned the La Liga side victory two minutes from time, touching home from inside the box from a rebound.

One day after losing the German Super Cup to Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund cruised  to a 5-2 victory at 3. Liga side FC Rot-Weiss Erfurt.

Seventeen-year-old Swedish forward Alexander Isak scored four times for Peter Bosz’s side, while Jan-Niklas Beste added the fifth. Lion Lauberbach and Elias Huth scored for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Eder, Stevan Jovetic and Marcelo Brozovic scored to give Inter Milan a 3-1 win over Villarreal. Roberto Soldado scored the consolation goal for the Spanish side.

Newcastle United beat Hellas Verona 2-0, early goals from Ayoze Perez and Christian Atsu settling the game.

Elsewhere, Real Betis won 2-1 at StuttgartHoffenheim lost 2-1 at home to Bologna, while Augsburg and PSV Eindhoven finished goalless. Wolfsburg were beaten 2-0 by Fiorentina and Espanyol drew 1-1 at Hamburg.
