TOP STORY: Manchester United, Arsenal want Demiral

According to Daily Star, Manchester United and Arsenal are eyeing up the possibility of a move for Juventus defender Merih Demiral.

The 21-year-old, who joined Juve from Sassuolo in the summer, is already looking towards a potential move away during the January transfer window if he’s unable to break into the first team on a more permanent basis.

Arsenal desperately need to add some extra stability to their shaky defensive ranks, whereas United were believed to be interested in Demiral prior to going after Harry Maguire.

16.27 BST: After selling defensive ace Harry Maguire this summer to Manchester United, Leicester failed in their summer attempts to bring in a replacement centre-back.

While Caglar Soyuncu has thrived this season for the Foxes in central defence, Leicester are still looking to bring in another central defender and LeicestershireLive have compiled three candidates. The Foxes failed in attempts for Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake in the summer but could one of these three fill the void of Maguire?

Those three are Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car, Benfica starlet Ruben Dias and Real Sociedad’s Diego Llorente. Leicester, who currently sit third, are already a very strong outfit and with a boosted transfer kitty thanks to the sale of Maguire, a new centre-back could further bolster their ranks.

15.38 GMT: Over the past two seasons Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has developed into one of — if not the best — left-back in the world football.

With Robertson’s rise it is no surprise he is drawing interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid. Some rumours from Spain need to be taking with s grain — or two — of salt but fan site Defensa Central is claiming that Los Blancos are lining up the Scottish left-back, 25, to fill the spot of ageing Marcelo.

One would think Robertson will be staying at Anfield for the long run, especially when you consider Madrid just this past summer spent £43 million on a left-back in Ferland Mendy.

14.22 GMT: Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are all being linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Emre Can in January. Can is out of favour in Turin, and was cut from the Champions League squad. Calciomercato reckons there will be a three-way fight for his signature.

12.50 GMT: Reports in Italy coming out of Calciomercato are linking Chelsea with a move for Javairo Dilrosun, who is a 21-year-old winger for Hertha Berlin.

12.02 GMT: The list of clubs showing an interest in Zlatan Ibrahimovic is growing. The 38-year-old is out of contract at LA Galaxy at the end of the year, and A-League side Perth Glory have already made an approach on a guest player deal. He also been linked with South American teams Boca Juniors and Flamengo, and now Brescia want to partner Ibrahimovic with Mario Balotelli.

11.19 GMT: The Daily Mail reckons Wolves could make a move for Lille star Gabriel Magalhaes. They are short in defence after Willy Boly was ruled out injured for months, and the Brazilian — more commonly known as Gabriel — is being tracked by the Premier League club.

10.14 GMT: Could Manchester United be set to bring in another promising young British player in January? Reports suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice one of his top targets, but the Hammers could be looking for a fee in the region of £80 million.

09.30 GMT: It’s a busy day of action across Europe, but with just two months to go before the transfer window opens there’s going to be plenty of rumours to keep up with.

PAPER ROUND: Inter Milan prioritise Vidal signing

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Arturo Vidal is a top priority for Inter Milan.

Vidal is in search of more first team opportunities after being slowly phased out of the equation with Barcelona. The veteran midfielder has attracted the attention of Inter boss Antonio Conte, who has personally requested that the club goes after the Chilean star.

Vidal has been at the Nou Camp since 2018 when he signed from Bayern Munich, and already spent four years in Serie A with Juventus from 2011 to 2015.

Jack Rodwell is in talks with Parma ahead of a potential switch to the Italian club, The Sun reports. The former Manchester City midfielder was recently on the verge of joining Roma, only for Paulo Fonseca to decide against the deal. Now, it appears as if the Englishman could get his big move to Serie A after all.

– Manchester United are set to demand a fee of around £17 million from Roma for defender Chris Smalling, Daily Mail reports. Smalling has enjoyed a strong start to his loan spell at the club, and after seeing their first approach rejected, it would appear as if the Italian side aren’t willing to go down without a fight.

– Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is contemplating a move to a bigger league within European football, the Evening Times says. The popular Colombian told a radio station in his homeland that a switch to a more notable club could be on the cards in January following a strong start to the new campaign.
