Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri was disappointed by the tempo his side played at during their 2-0 win over Chievo.

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has revealed to RMC that he “will make every possible effort” to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

The Germany international’s contract expires this summer and Marotta said talks to bring him to Juve are underway.

“Emre Can’s contract is expiring in June 2018,” the general manager said.”We are following the player very closely and we are interested in him. We’ve opened talks with his camp, but it doesn’t mean that the deal is already done.

“It won’t be easy because Liverpool will try to renew his contract, without forgetting that there might be other clubs interested in signing him, but we’ll make every possible effort to bring him in.”

Emre Can could run down his contract at Liverpool.

Can has made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring one goal, while he was also on the pitch in the 3-2 FA Cup defeat to West Brom last Saturday.

Can said earlier this month he is prepared to wait until the end of the season to decide his future.

“My agent is looking after everything but I am here until the summer,” Can said. “I haven’t signed anything [with Juventus] or anyone.

“I am talking with everyone, of course I am talking with Liverpool. Why not? I still have a contract here. It is an amazing club. What can I say? My agent does the rest.

“I just concentrate on my performance and the football. I will give everything for this team.”
