Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has said the club have ended their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund head scout Sven Mislintat.
Mislintat, 44, discovered star players including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.
BVB sporting director Michael Zorc said on Thursday he was “irritated” by Bayern’s approach, with the Bundesliga champions looking to replace technical director Michael Reschke, who has joined Stuttgart.
“The matter is closed because Dortmund said that they don’t want to lose him,” Hoeness told Sky.
He said Mislintat “had applied for a job at a Swabian club [Stuttgart] and then Michael Reschke moved there.”
And he added: “Therefore, negotiations didn’t take place but we told him we could imagine him working for us — but Dortmund said it’s definitely not possible.”
