Demetri Mitchell, Heart of Midlothian, Leagues, Manchester United, Scottish Premiership, Story, Transfers

ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol goes player-by-player to determine who should remain and who should depart Manchester United’s back line.

Manchester United defender Demetri Mitchell is set to join Scottish Premiership side Hearts on loan, sources have told ESPN FC.

Highly-rated left-back Mitchell made his debut for United on the final day of last season in the win over Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old is tipped for a big future at United, but he is currently well down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans at Old Trafford.

United are happy to loan out Mitchell so that he can gain valuable first-team experience and Hearts have beaten a host of clubs to land the defender on loan for the rest of the season.
