They may be unbeaten since the start of the season, but it looks like Manchester City might have finally met their match.

As part of Betsafe’s “Overcome the Odds” campaign, a City team consisting of Sergio Aguero, Nicolas Otamendi, Fernandinho, Danilo and club ambassador Shay Given took on the Saracens rugby team in a series of skill challenges.

The first task saw City’s team attempting to control an array of balls thrown by Given from a high gantry, culminating in them struggling to trap an egg-shaped ball.

In future episodes we’ll see both City and the Saracens team attempting to wallop both footballs and rugby balls into a 20-metre high crane, score goals while playing in a wind machine and catch balls being shot at them through a wall of smoke.

Whether it’ll settle the age old “football versus rugby” debate is questionable, but it sure sounds like a lot of fun.
