Reto Ziegler is joining MLS outfit FC Dallas from Luzern, the club announced.

Former Serie A and Premier League defender Reto Ziegler has signed with FC Dallas from FC Luzern, the club announced on Tuesday.

Ziegler, 31, played for Tottenham, Sampdoria and Fenerbahce over the course of his career and will now join the Major League Soccer outfit after receiving his P-1 Visa and transfer certificate.

Ziegler racked up 14 goals over 81 appearances in Switzerland’s top flight, the majority of which came for Sion between 2015-17. He has also played 34 times for Switzerland’s national team, including starting roles for his country in all three of their matches in South Africa in 2010.

Dallas missed out on the playoffs in 2017 after a Supporters’ Shield winning campaign in 2016.
