The FC guys share how they would’ve responded in their playing days if Pep Guardiola approached them the way he did with Nathan Redmond.
Pep Guardiola sheds light on what he said to Nathan Redmond following Man City’s dramatic win over Southampton.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will face no action over his animated post-match conversation with Southampton winger Nathan Redmond, sources have told ESPN FC.

The Football Association asked Guardiola for his observations of his exchange with Redmond immediately after City’s 2-1 injury-time win over the Saints last Wednesday.

Sources said the FA will take no further action but have reminded Guardiola of his responsibilities.

Guardiola was seen having an unusual conservation with the Saints winger after the full-time whistle at the Etihad Stadium, appearing to gesticulate at the player in an aggressive manner.

However, he explained in his postmatch news conference that he was simply letting him know what an admirer he was of his talents and that he was wasted having to defend.

Redmond backed up Guardiola’s comment via a statement on Twitter, saying that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss was “only very complimentary and positive.”

Following the request from the FA for his observations, Guardiola told a news conference he had regretted the way he had spoken to Redmond and that he must learn to control his emotions.

He is now cleared to be on the touchline for the Manchester derby on Sunday against second-placed Manchester United.
